About Us
AlumBoost was founded by Rhonda Apor, a Georgetown Law graduate who began her career practicing law at a Fortune 100 company. Over the years, Rhonda has dedicated herself to mentoring aspiring law students, guiding young attorneys, and connecting students with the networks and resources they need to succeed. As both a professional and a parent of two college-age children, she understands firsthand the challenges students face—and the concerns parents feel—once the transition from high school to college begins. She created AlumBoost after hearing countless stories from bright, hardworking students who dreamed of medical or law school but struggled to stand out in the highly competitive environment of top universities. Many shared how difficult it was to maintain high GPAs when “everyone is smart and got straight A’s in high school”. Parents, too, expressed frustration that once their children left for college, academic support tailored to long-term goals like medical and law school felt out of reach.
AlumBoost bridges this gap by offering college students personalized tutoring from recent graduates—often from the same university—who understand the exact courses, professors, and expectations they are navigating. By pairing students with tutors who have successfully walked the same path, AlumBoost helps students gain the extra academic boost and confidence they need to reach their professional dreams. At the same time, recent graduates preparing for the LSAT, MCAT, or next steps in their careers gain meaningful part-time work by tutoring others.
AlumBoost is more than tutoring—it’s a supportive network circle where alumni and students lift each other up on the journey toward becoming the compassionate doctors and lawyers our world needs.
